Coming to Netflix Instant Streaming September 2018

A tentative list of film and TV titles that will start streaming on Netflix Instant sometime during September 2018.  This list will continue to be edited as needed as more information is learned:

Barca Dreams (2015):  The histories and highlights of a beloved and successful soccer team known as FC Barcelona is the focus of this documentary.

A Beautiful Mind (2001):  Biography of famed economist John Nash who overcame mental illness to have his theories spread out globally.  Pretty good; with Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly.

Borderline Murder (2011):  A law student investigating her sister's death stumbles onto an illegal network of plastic surgery centers; with Brooke Burns.

The Breakfast Club (1985):  Five students unexpectedly bond over a Saturday detention; with Emilio Estevez and Molly Ringwald.

Brick (2005):  A high school loner investigates his fellow students for a murderer after his secret crush
is found killed; with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Bruce Almighty (2003):  TV news reporter is given the gift of ultimate power after he angrily ridicules God, but can he do better.  Fairly good; with Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman.

Carbon (2017):  On the verge of losing his business, an entrepreneur launches a carbon tax scam that throws his life for a curve; with Benoit Magimel.

The Cider House Rules (1999):  A physician's protege runs off to see the world, but reality soon crashes on his idealism and morality.  Solid; with Tobey Maguire and Michael Caine.

Delirium (2018):  Man with mental issues moves into his late parents' mansion and finds a change of address hasn't changed his problems; with Topher Grace.

Doom (2005):  A special ops squad investigating a distress signal from a distant planet makes a disturbing discovery; with Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban.

Fair Game (2010):  Valerie Plame finds her life and career in jeopardy when she's outed as a CIA operative by a vengeful government; with Naomi Watts.

Happily N'Ever After 2: Snow White (2009):  It's Snow White to the rescue when she learns her father's new fiancee is a witch; with voice of GK Bowes.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005):  Arthur survives the imminent destruction of Earth by hitching a ride on a passing spacecraft.  Pretty good; with Martin Freeman and Mos Def.

Hope Aur Hum (2018):  Multi-generational household deals with daily life, relationships, and clashes of mindsets in this drama; with Naseeruddin Shah.

The Keeping Hours (2017):  A divorced couple learns that years after they lost their child that his ghost still haunts their former home; with Lee Pace and Carrie Coon.

King Kong (2005):  A group of filmmakers tag along with a group of adventurous explorers in search of a giant gorilla on Skull Island; with Naomi Watts and Adrien Brody.

Kuch Bheege Alfaaz (2018):  Two strangers connect over an unexpected connection online, but they share another unknowing bond; with Geetanjali Thapa.

Lego DC Super Hero Girls: Brain Drain (2017):  Three super hero classmates find themselves expelled over activities that they can't recall over a 24 hour period; with voice of Tara Strong.

Lego DC Super Hero Girls: Super Villain High (2018):  The super hero girls must stop a supervillain from recruiting their classmates for evil missions; with voice of Yvette Nicole Brown.

Lost in Space (1998):  Danger, Will Robinson!  The Robinson family (plus a stowaway) launch into space to colonize a habitable planet (and solve family issues).  Dull; with William Hurt.

Love and Shukla (2017):  A sexually inexperienced rickshaw driver tries to build intimacy with his new wife in their crowded quarters; with Saharsh Kumar Shukla.

Martian Child (2007):  Recently widowed science fiction writer adopts a six year old boy who claims to be from Mars; with John Cusack.

Mini Force: New Heroes Rise (2018):  In this prequel to the series, a task force of elite rangers take on a Lizard Army to save Earth.

Murder Party (2007):  Mild mannered office drone unexpectedly finds an invitation to a shindig that takes a disturbing turn; with Macon Blair and Alex Barnett.

Nacho Libre (2006):  Mild mannered chef vows to save an orphanage where he works so secretly he dons a mask and suits up as a lucha libre pro wrestler; with Jack Black.

Once Again (2018):  A widowed restaurant owner and a lonely film actor bond over daily phone conversations and decide to meet in person; with Shefali Shah.

Pearl Harbor (2001):  The friendship between two pilots is tested by a love triangle and an unexpected attack during World War 2.  OK; with Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale and Josh Hartnett.

Pee Mak (2013):  Mak's friends try to protect him, but his recently deceased wife Nak won't take death for an answer in her pursuit of true love; with Mario Maurer.

The Perfect Day (2018):  French soccer fans, celebrities, and athletes retrace the events of July 12, 1998 as France won the World Cup in this documentary.

The Promise (2017):  Two teens make a suicide pact after their families become victimized by the 1997 financial crisis, but one of them doesn't follow through; with Bee Namthip.

The River Wild (1994):  A fugitive and his crew kidnap a river rafting guide and her family to lead them down a treacherous river; with Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon.

Scarface (1983):  Cuban immigrant Tony Montana becomes a Miami drug kingpin who unfortunately gets high on his own supply; with Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Searching for Sugar Man (2012):  Two fans make a desperate search for a Detroit singer-songwriter who disappeared after his albums failed to sell in this documentary.

Solo Con Tu Pareja (1991):  A yuppie playboy seeks a quick death after being diagnosed with AIDS by a nurse with an ax to grind with him; with Luis de Icaza.

Sparring (2017):  A middle aged boxer becomes a champion's sparring partner while seeking out a way to close out his career with a win; with Mathieu Kassovitz.

Spider-Man 3 (2007):  Spider-Man deals with the downside of fame while facing off against a new group of villains; with Tobey Maguire and Thomas Haden Church.

Stephanie (2017):  Menacing unseen force stalks a young girl living by herself in a suburban house where she's surrounded by reminders of her once-happy family; with Shree Cooks.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006):  Two would be Vietnam soldiers crash their jeep while going out for a final joyride.  Terrible; with Jordana Brewster.

Two Weeks Notice (2002):  The executive assistant of a millionaire real estate developer decides to quit after a year of working for him; with Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock.

Unforgiven (1992):  Reluctant gunfighter reluctantly takes on one final assignment while breaking in a brash young partner.  Good; with Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman.

September 2:

The Emperor's New Groove (2000):  A South American emperor learns humbleness when he's transformed into a llama by his power hungry adviser; with voices of David Spade and John Goodman.

Lilo and Stitch (2002):  Lonely Hawaiian girl adopts a wacky looking dog, unaware that it's an alien fugitive.  Not bad after a slow start; with voices of Daveigh Chase and Tia Carrere.

Maynard (2017):  This documentary combines testimony from family, friends, and politicians to share the story of Maynard Jackson, the first African American mayor of Atlanta.

September 3:

The Debt Collector (2018):  A broke martial arts instructor reluctantly takes a second job as a mobster's debt collector; with Scott Adkins.

Kirk Cameron: Connect (2018):  Actor turned evangelist Kirk Cameron advises parents on helping kids make good digital decisions in this documentary.

Steven Tyler: Out on a Limb (2018):  Documentary where the Aerosmith singer undergoes the process prior to making a solo debut in the unexpected genre of country music.

September 4:

Black Panther (2018):  T'Challa, the superpowered new leader of the hidden, highly advanced African nation of Wakanda, vows to protect his home from various enemies; with Chadwick Boesman.

Man Up (2015):  A single woman decides to just go with it when she meets a stranger underneath a train station clock who presumes that she's his blind date; with Lake Bell and Simon Pegg.

September 5:

ATM (2012):  A couple employed by the bank decide to wager who can recover more money when an ATM machine goes haywire; with Gornpop Janjaroen.

Bangkok Traffic (Love) Story (2009):  A 30 year old woman starts to pursue a relationship with a train engineer working the night shift; with Sirin Horwang.

Hell and Back (2015):  A broken blood oath leads one best friend to hell and the other two doing their best to rescue him from the underworld; with voice of Nick Swardson and Mila Kunis.

I Fine...Thank You...Love You (2014):  Yim hires a tutor to teach him English so he can win back his girlfriend in the United States, but things don't translate; with Sora Aoi.

A New Economy (2016):  Documentary explores companies and individuals who look beyond profits by using nontraditional business models to determine success.

One Day (2016):  An overlooked geek decides to take advantage of a colleague (and crush) who has temporarily lost her memory; with Sutthatip Wutichaipradit.

Phobia 2 (2009):  Five more Thai directors give us supernatural tales of karma and nightmare fuel in this horror anthology film; with Nicole Theriault.

Shutter (2004):  A couple who kill a young girl in a hit and run accident finds that memories of the tragedy are not the only thing haunting them; with Ananda Everingham.

Suckseed (2011):  Ped forms a band with his best friend to woo a recently returned classmate, but there's discord when she joins the band; with Nattasha Nauljam.

PK (2014):  A social crusader attempts to best the corruption found in the Indian government; with Aamir Khan.

City of Joy (2018):  A city that serves as a place of healing for women who were victims of sexual assault in war torn Congo is the focus of this documentary.

Click (2006):  An overworked worker thinks he's found a solution to make his life easier in a remote control that can operate his life; with Adam Sandler and Kate Beckinsale.

Laddaland (2011):  A family's move to an upscale housing development is marred by a series of paranormal incidents; with Saharat Sangkapreecha.

The Most Assassinated Woman in the World (2018):  An actress known for her gory deaths at a Grand Guignol theater in Paris deals with her troubled past and a stalker; with Anna Mouglalis.

Next Gen (2018):  Lonely Mai bonds with a top secret robot and they work together to stop the scheme of a dastardly villain; with voices of John Krasinski and Charlyne Yi.

Jugaad (2017):  Documentary follows several residents of Mumbai showcasing their indomitable spirit.

Maj Rati Keteki (2017):  Successful writer returns home where he meets people that cause him to flashback to various points in his life; with Adil Hussain.

Mayurakshi (2017):  Middle aged divorcee moves back home to Kolkata to visit his ailing father which leads to new discoveries within the family; with Soumitra Chatterjee.

Red Oleanders Raktokarobi (2017):  A theater group starts seeing parallels between their lives and a Rabindranath Tagore play they're working on; with Shantilal Mukherjee.

Samantaral (2017):  During a family visit, a young man and his girlfriend try to learn why an eccentric uncle has been confined to one room for years; with Riddhi Sen.

The Secret (2018):  Kanaya leaves home following learning that her father has married someone her own age and ends up in a haunted hospital; with Nagita Slavina.

The Third Man (1949):  In post-World War 2 Vienna, unemployed novelist Holly learns some uncomfortable truths when he starts to investigate the accidental death of a friend.  See it; with Joseph Cotton and Orson Welles.

September 16:

As Above, So Below (2014):  A tomb raider and her crew join some locals in search of treasure in the Paris catacombs and finds danger instead.  Not bad; with Perdita Weeks.

Role Models (2008):  After an assignment for a job goes horribly wrong, two adult slackers get roped into a mentoring program.  Fun; with Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World (2010):  To win the love of dreamy delivery girl Ramona, guitarist Scott Pilgrim must best her exes in martial arts battles.  Great; with Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

September 17:

The Witch (2015):  Pilgrims residing in a house on the outskirts of a forest become paranoid when they start to believe they're being cursed by a witch; with Anya Taylor-Joy.

September 18:

Class Rank (2018):  An ambitious teen with a low class rank convinces a nerdy peer to run for the school board to abolish the ranking system; with Olivia Holt.

DL Hughley: Contrarian (2018):  From Philadelphia, the stand up comic and actor focuses on politics, celebrity scandals, and the tough love of his mother.

The Endless (2017):  Two adult siblings return to a UFO death cult after receiving a mysterious videotape that leaves more answers than questions; with Aaron Moorhead.

September 20:

Hondros (2017):  The best friend of photographer Chris Hondros explores the stories behind some of his iconic pictures of world conflicts in this documentary.

Mad World (2016):  A stockbroker dealing with bipolar disorder lives with his estranged father in a cramped apartment which leads to some intense moments; with Shawn Yue.

Nappily Ever After (2018):  After a romantic setback, a perfectionist ad executive decides to change things up starting with a new hairdo; with Sanaa Lathan.

Quincy (2018):  Music and cultural icon Quincy Jones is the focus of this documentary directed by daughter Rashida Jones.

Rafinha Bastos: Ultimatum (2018):  The Brazilian comic riffs on his divorce, finding love, and the dangers of telling an off color joke.

Big Miracle (2012):  After a reporter breaks a story about whales trapped in the Arctic Circle, the Americans and Russians team up to free them; with Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski.

The Cobbler (2014):  You've ever heard of walking a mile in someone's shoes?  For a weary cobbler, he gets his chance when trying on his shoes sent to him by various customers; with Adam Sandler.

If I Were an Animal Season 1 (2016):  Two kids watch various animals mature from little babies to grown adults in this nature series.

Naruto Season 5 (2017):  The Konoha team searches the theft of a star and try to determine who their real enemy is before squaring off in a final battle.

The Blacklist Season 5 (2017):  While Red attempts to rebuild his shattered criminal empire, he and Liz deal with various twists and turns in their complex relationship; with James Spader.
