Coming to Netflix Streaming December 2016

Tenative list of films and TV shows coming to Netflix Instant for December 2016.  Will update as more information comes in.

Angels in the Snow:  Bickering couple take their children on a Christmas vacation and learn about love and respect by helping shelter a stranded family; with Kristy Swanson.

Art Basel: A Portrait:  In this documentary short, the history of an annual Switzerland art fair is charted as well as its legacy as an influential gathering.

Asu Mare 2:  To win the heart of a high society girl, a hapless commoner plans to change his identity and avoid his embarrassing friends; with Carlos Alcantara.

Beverly Hills Cop:  A Detroit cop named Axel Foley who is trying to solve the murder of his friend traces the trail all the way to Beverly Hills where he faces resistance from cops at both places; with Eddie Murphy.

Beyond Bollywood:  Documentary explores some of the rarely spotlighted players such as makeup artists, extras, and character actors who keeps the world of Bollywood films going.

Black Snake Moan:  A bluesman must face his own demons before he can help a woman he's found beaten nearly to death as well as her soldier boyfriend; with Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci.

Burn:  Documentary explores the efforts of Detroit firefighters who battle the nation's highest arson rate in the hopes of keeping the city from collapse.  Thank you for your service.

Christmas Crush:  Twentysomething Georgia finds her high school reunion might give her a second chance at love with her old boyfriend; with Rachel Boston.

A Christmas Horror Story:  Anthology features four horror stories involving Santa fighting off zombie elves and Krampus stalking a naughty family; with William "Subtlety" Shatner.

Christmas in the City:  Woman takes a job in a department store to make ends meet, but her Grinch of a boss fires the in house Santa who may or may not be the real deal.  Oops; with Ashley Williams.

Compulsion (1959):  Two wealthy psychopaths decide to test their limits by kidnapping and murdering someone in this film based on a real life murder case; with Dean Stockwell and Orson Welles.

Cousin Bette:  Spinster cousin steps in to take care of her family who is losing their fortune thanks to the extravagant spending of their son; with Jessica Lange and Elisabeth Shue.

The Crucible:  In the time of the Salem Witch Trials, one woman seeks to clear her lover by accusing his wife of witchcraft; with Winona Ryder and Daniel Day-Lewis.

D2: The Mighty Ducks:  Coach Gordon Bombay is back to lead his beloved Ducks as well as a few newcomers as they square off in the Junior Goodwill Games; with Emilio Estevez.

David Blaine: Street Magic:  The renowned magician uses up close illusions and tricks in street performances that impress his in-person, on the ground performances; with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Dear Albania:  Actress Eliza Dushku and her brother Nate travel to Albania and explores its history, culture, and their own ancestry in this documentary short.

Dear Santa:  Twentysomething Crystal sets out to make a young girl's wish to Santa come true by finding a new wife for her daddy.  Are you single; with Amy Acker.

Decoding Desire:  Scientists explore the sexual behavior of various animals before turning its focus on male and female humans and how desire works for them in this documentary short.

A Dogwalker's Christmas Tale:  Spoiled Luce has a tough decision to make when a handsome new friend asks her to help protect a dog park from her wealthy employer; with Lexi Giovagnoli.

Dreamland:  Follow the lives of entertainers, thrill seekers, entrepreneurs, and others working in California, a place where dreams come true in this documentary short.

Exotic Invaders: Pythons of the Everglades:  Professional snake hunters delve deep into the Florida Everglades as they attempt to save an endangered ecosystem from invasive predators.

Fannie's Last Supper:  America's Test Kitchen host Chris Kimball and chef Erin McMurrer recreate a 1896 12 course meal from American cookbook pioneer Frances Farmer; speaking of which, when are we supposed to get new PBS shows?

Finding Traction:  This documentary finds ultra-marathoner Nikki Kimball testing her body and spirit by attempting to break a record on Vermont's 273 mile Long Trail.

Fireplace and Melodies for the Holidays:  A virtual fireplace warms the hearth while festive holiday tunes such as Silent Night and Deck the Halls ensures a Christmas gathering will be a fun one.

Glory Daze: The Life and Times of Michael Alig:  Documentary explores the stunning rise and shocking fall of Alig, who openly bragged about killing and dismembering a rival clubgoer; for those who have seen Party Monster, see the real life story that inspired it.

Hannibal:  Hannibal Lecter's sole surviving victim attempts to lure the serial killer out of hiding even as the doctor attempts to reconnect with a disgraced Clarice; with Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore.

Harry and the Hendersons:  The Henderson family agrees to take a Bigfoot-style animal home as a pet after the father strikes it with his car accidentally.  Being a family film, hilarity ensues; with John Lithgow.

Heathers:  Returned!  Veronica isn't fond of the other members of her popular clique and mysterious newcomer JD offers her the perfect solution to end their tyranny; with Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.

Loreena McKennitt: Nights from the Alhambra:  Celtic, New Age, world music sensation McKennitt brings her musical stylings to Spain's most historic medieval fortress for a mystical musical evening.

The Man from Snowy River:  A cowboy struggles to keep his farm running following his father's death by taking a job breaking wild horses.  Along the way, he falls in love; with Tom Burlinson.

Merry Kissmas:  Although engaged to a famous choreographer, Kayla has doubts about her relationship which grow when she shares a magical kiss with a stranger; with Karissa Staples.

Most Valuable Players:  Exhuberant documentary explores the Freddy Awards, a televised high school musical theater competition held in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania each year.

My Babysitter's a Vampire: The Movie:  When their parents go out for an evening, Ethan and his little sister find their babysitter Sarah is a fledgling vampire; with Matthew Knight.

Nat Turner: A Troublesome Property:  Historical documents, interviews, and recreations help dramatize the controversial 1831 slave rebellion led by Turner.

National Lampoon's Animal House:  The members of a notorious party fraternity plan revenge on stuffed shirt college Dean Wormer when he places them on double secret probation; with John Belushi.

Natural Selection:  Shy high school senior and newcomer to a school finds himself tormented by all his peers except one who has a dark, infectious outlook on life; with Mason Dye.

Nazi Gold in Argentina:  Documentary explores how Nazis were able to transfer much cash to Argentina before World War 2 to be used for propaganda and espionage.

Neerja:  Young flight attendant must face her own fears and save her passengers when terrorists hijack her jet bound for New York City; with Sonam Kapoor.

On the Shoulders of Giants:  Documentary explores the legacy of the Harlem Rens, an all African American hoops squad as well as the segregated world of pro hoops in the 1930s; with Jamie Foxx.

The Perfect Gift:  When family drops in unannounced, a festive holiday for a father slips into chaos.  Expect heartwarming and singing; with Ruben Studdard and Clifton Powell.

Picture Perfect:  Single girl claims to be a fiancee of a videographer she met at a wedding in order to be considered for a promotion, but she has to make good on her ruse; with Jennifer Aniston.

The Pit:  The cutthroat world of commodities trading is shown in this documentary that explores the innards of the New York Board of Trade and the chaos inside.

Rainbow Time:  Developmentally disabled man obsessed with the Fonz, guns, and kinky things proves to be the handful to his arrogant brother when he moves in with him; with Linas Phillips.

Return to the USS Atlanta: Defender of the Guadalcanal:  Divers explore the remains of the USS Atlanta while historians and veterans analyze the Battle of Guadalcanal that sank it.

Richard Pryor: Live in Concert:  Pryor has audiences rolling down the aisles in this 1979 stand up special where he discusses race, the police, and himself.

The Rock:  Chemical weapons expert teams up with an ex-con to rescue hostages from an ex-Marine who has captured Alcatraz and plans on using nerve gas on nearby San Francisco; with Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery.

Rodeo and Juliet:  Young city girl new to her family's ranch struggles to fit in to rural life until a cute cowboy teaches her how to barrel race.  But there's one problem; with Krista Allen.

Sairat:  Two college students upend social edicts by falling in love which leads to violence erupting in their village; with Rinku Rajguru.

Schooled: The Price of College Sports:  Documentary explores the business of college athletics where billions are earned each year nationwide, but college kids don't get a dime; with Sam Rockwell.

The Three Dogateers:  With some help from Santa's magic, three adventurous dogs set out to recover stolen property and find the crooks who stole from their owner's house; with Dean Cain.

Too Late:  Hard drinking private eye searches through a familiar looking seedy Los Angeles in search of a woman from his past; with John Hawkes.

Toys:  Battle for a toy company ensues between a sweet, simple minded man and a military general who has a sinister business plan for new toys.  Ho ho no; with Robin Williams and Michael Gambon.

Two Girls and a Guy:  Two girls realize they're dating the same guy so they break into his apartment in order to find evidence and confront him with it; with Robert Downey, Jr. and Heather Graham.

Uncle Nick:  A lecherous, drunken slacker named Nick works hard to make his brother's traditional Christmas Eve party a disaster; with Brian Posehn and Paget Brewster.

The Violin Player:  Unemployed Bollywood session violinist in Mumbai finally gets a small gig, but transformation ensues on the trip home; with Ritwick Chakraborty.

Waking Life:  Animated film from Richard Linklater follows the philosophical discussions of a young man and various eccentrics and passionate thinkers; with voice of Wiley Wiggins.

We're Back!: A Dinosaur's Story:  Alien scientist converts Rex and his friends from hungry predators to charming beasts and lets them roam present day New York City; with voices of Walter Cronkite and John Goodman.

When Two Worlds Collide:  Documentary explores how indigenous people clashed with the Peruvian government over land and economics in the Amazon.

Wildflower:  A promising young artist starts having terrifying flashbacks that may be connected to her dark past and an unsolved murder; with Nathalia Ramos.

World Peace and Other 4th Grade Achievements:  Documentary explores an innovative social studies teacher who has created the World Peace game to help his students improve critical thinking skills.

Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie:  Nate travels through time to save the Yo-Kai Watch as well as the friendship between humans and Yo-Kai.  Oh, and restore history; with voice of Johnny Yong Bosch.

Zero Point:  Johannes is a quiet teen who is isolated from his classmates and dealing with a stressful home life.  So he aims to hit the reset button and start anew; with Mart Pius.

December 2:

For the Love of Spock:  Leonard Nimoy's son directs this documentary that explores his dad's portrayal of vulcan Spock, the iconic Star Trek character he portrayed for 50 years; with Nimoy and William Shatner.

The Heart of Christmas:  A couple's young son is diagnosed with leukemia which leads them to give him one last Christmas in October.  Their story which inspires a businesswoman; with Candice Cameron Bure.

Interrogation:  Politically motivated cops decide to frame four Tamil laborers for a crime, torturing them to no avail in this film based on a true story; with Dinesh Ravi.

Life in the Blue:  Documentary short dives into the shallow waters underneath the ocean to explore how hunters, hiders, and other forms of sea life use that space just below the surface.

Perfect Sisters:  Based on a true life story.  Two sisters commit the perfect murder, killing their mother, but things go wrong when they reveal this to their friends; with Abigail Breslin.

#Rucker50:  Documentary examines the 50th anniversary of the legendary Harlem sports program that inspired countless city kids to become pro basketball players.

White Girl:  College girl in search of cocaine and other highs finds something real to grasp only to watch it potentially slip away; with Morgan Saylor and Justin Bartha.

Yoga Hosers:  To get to an important high school party, two teen yoga fanatics enlist a man hunter to help fight an army of monsters created by Nazis; with Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp.

December 3:

4 Minute Mile:  Back!  Talented runner and former coach turn to each other to find comfort, hope, and stability to overcome difficult obstacles in their lives; with Kelly Blatt and Richard Jenkins.

Diary of a Chambermaid (2015):  Attractive young woman works as a chambermaid for a couple with an unreasonable wife and a smitten husband; with Lea Seydoux.

Rezeta:  Carefree and beautiful Albanian model arrives in Mexico City and uses her charms to create a new life for herself there; with Rezeta Veliu.

The Wailing:  When a mysterious disease leads to death and chaos in a mountain village, a policeman with an infected daughter consults a powerful shaman.

Spa Night:  Closeted Korean-American teen takes up a job at a local spa while mulling about his own sexuality, choices, and how to inform his parents; with Joe Seo.

Reggie Watts: Spatial:  Comedian best known as the sidekick from Comedy Bang! Bang! makes a special that combines music, jokes, and improv comedy in a surreal package.

December 7:

One in a Billion:  The efforts of Satnam Singh Bhamara to become the first player born into India to play in the NBA are chronicled in this documentary.

December 8:

Kickboxer: Vengeance:  The younger brother of a skilled fighter starts training to get revenge on the brutal champion who killed his sibling; with Dave Bautista and Alain Moussi.

Other People:  A struggling gay comedy writer in New York City puts on a brave face and travels to Sacramento to care for his dying mother; with Jesse Plemons and Molly Shannon.

December 9:

The Best of Rafal Rutkowski Olka Szczesniak:  From Warsaw, the two comedians offer savvy impressions and wry wit in this comedy special.

It's a Boy Girl Thing:  A trip to a natural history museum turns to comic disaster for two rival teens as they find themselves switching bodies thanks to a spell cast by an ancient statue; with Samaire Armstrong.

Karol Modzelewski, Lukasz "Lotek" Lodkowski No Offense:  From Warsaw, the two comics and friends offer their mischievous brand of humor to this comedy special.

Katarzyna Piasecka, Rafal Paczes Seriously Funny:  From Warsaw, the two Polish comics hit the stage for funny anecdotes and sly jokes in this stand up special.

Mariah Carey's Merriest Christmas:  The diva singer hosts this Christmas special with music, special guests, and even a reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas; with Lacey Chabert and Kelsey Grammer.

Mariusz Kalamaga, Karol Kopiec, Wiolka Walaszczyk Hilarious Trio:  From Warsaw, the three comics deliver an eclectic and energetic night of comedy in this stand up special.

Rafal Banas, Michal Leja Laugh Out Loud:  The two young Polish comics bring their high energy set to Warsaw in this stand up special.

Spectral:  An engineer teams up with an elite Special Ops unit to defend a war torn European city from an otherworldly force; with James Badge Dale and Emily Mortimer.

Tomasz Jachimek, Jacek Stramik Laugh at Live:  Tomasz, a writer, actor, and satirist, teams up with comedian Jacek for this subversive stand up special from Warsaw, Poland.

December 10:

Cowboys:  A teen girl's brother and father go on a years long quest to find her and her Muslim boyfriend after the lovers run off together; with Francois Damiens and Finnegan Oldfield.

Lucky Number Slevin:  Drifter who is searching the apartment of his missing friend is mistaken for him by thugs who force him to participate in a murder; with Josh Hartnett and Bruce Willis.

Phantom of the Theatre:  A young filmmaker in 1930s Shanghai discovers the vengeful, nightmarish spirits of acrobats burned alive in an eerie movie palace; with Ruby Lin.

Sons of Ben:  Sports documentary that examines a group of Philadelphians who became fans of their Major League Soccer club even though it didn't exist yet.

December 11:

Asperger's Are Us:  Documentary examines the final show of a group of comics consisting of four friends who are all on the autism spectrum.

Breaking a Monster:  This documentary explores the efforts of Brooklyn heavy metal street band Unlocking the Truth who launch into the big leagues of the musical industry and touring, while also dealing with their teenage years.

December 12:

Expediente Santiso:  Fragile reporter who's dealt with the painful reality of his daughter vanishing in Iraq years before stops taking his meds and goes beyond the limits of sanity; with Carlos Belloso.

Marias: Faith in Womanhood:  This documentary focuses on what the Virgin Mary means to various women in Latin America and how she has affected their lives and faith.

Ricardo O'Farrill: Abrazo Navideno:  The expressive comic uses his astute comic sensibilities to skewer Christmas traditions like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus in this special.

The Santa Clause:  An ad executive who accidentally kills Kris Kringle reluctantly puts on the suit and finds his life changing in many ways as a result; with Tim Allen and Eric Lloyd.

Sendero:  A road trip to celebrate good news turns deadly as Ana and her friends have to escape the clutches of a deranged family to survive; with Andrea Garcia-Huidobro.
