Coming to Netflix Instant Streaming December 2017

A tentative list of film and TV series titles that will be streaming to Netflix Instant sometime in the month of December.  Full list will appear Monday and I hope to be done with it that night.

The Adventures of Tintin (2011):  The adventures of fearless young journalist Tintin and his trusty dog Snowy appear in 3D motion capture; with voices of Jamie Bell and Andy Serkis.

August Rush (2007):  Circumstances leave the child of a glorious one night stand in the care of a stranger; with Freddie Highmore and Keri Russell.

Bhouri (2017):  A 23 year old girl who's married to a man more than twice her age deals with the predatory nature of a male dominated society; with Raghuvir Yadav.

Birthday (2015):  Gender roles and medical science goes into overtime when a couple agrees that their new baby will be carried by the male; with Stephen Mangan.

Boris Becker: Der Spieler (2017):  Although many know of Becker's tennis breakthrough at Wimbledon when he turned 17, the documentary focuses on one year of his life after retiring.

Brother's Keeper (1992):  Documentary examine the odd world of the elderly illiterate Ward brothers who spend their lives in a rundown shack.

Dream Boat (2017):  On a cruise for gay men, five passengers from different nationalities reflect on life and party their cares away in this documentary.

Dreamcatcher (2003):  Four friends with a telepathic bond discover aliens lurking in the Maine woods while they're on a hunting trip; with Morgan Freeman and Thomas Jane.

Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe (2015):  A man driven to do good thanks to being raised by his mother and the Sikh religion sets out to serve humanity; with Pavan Malhotra.

Exporting Raymond (2010):  The challenges faced by Phil Rosenthal to adapt his hit sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond to Russian TV make up the focus of this documentary.

Full Metal Jacket (1987):  In this drama, a private goes through a memorable Marine Corp basic training and eventually makes his way to Vietnam; with Matthew Modine and R. Lee Ermey.

Half Girlfriend (2017):  A small town boy falls for a big city girl and wants her to be his girlfriend, but she has different plans; with Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.

Hired Gun (2016):  Session musicians reveal their brushes with greatness with the help of interviews, concert footage and behind the scenes stories in this documentary.

Hisss (2010):  In his quest for immortality, George travels to India and kidnaps the reptilian lover of the snake goddess Nagin; with Mallika Sherawat and Irrfan Khan.

Hitch (2005):  While helping his latest client woo a princess, a date doctor finds his methods will not work on a sexy tabloid reporter looking for a scoop; with Will Smith and Eva Mendes.

The Legend of 420 (2017):  The documentary examines the growing decriminalization of marijuana in the US as well as the various uses of the drug.

The Little Rascals (1994):  The efforts of a boys club to win a soapbox derby race run off the road when their driver is caught hanging out with a girl; with Travis Tedford and Bug Hall.

Monster Island (2017):  Teenager who learns he isn't human travels to a remote island to explore his roots; with voice of Joey Caman.

Motivation 3: The Next Generation (2017):  Four gifted teen skateboarders compete for a life changing win in Tampa during this sports documentary.

My Happy Family (2017):  Middle aged wife and mother shocks her traditional family when she announces that she wants to live by herself; with Ia Shugliashvili.

Nacho Libre (2006):  Ignacio, who works as an orphanage cook, moonlights in lucha libre wrestling to help his employer deal with a funding issue; with Jack Black.

Prague (2013):  Chaotic ramblings of a young Indian architect's mind threaten to unravel him as he travels to Prague to work there; with Chandan Roy Sanyal.

Princess Kaiulani (2009):  Raised in England, Kaiulani returns to Hawaii to reclaim her throne and protect her people's dreams of being independent; with Barry Pepper.

Sahara (2005):  Adventurer Dirk Pitt discovers a Civil War secret while investigating a water-borne epidemic in Africa; with Matthew McConaughey and Steve Zahn.

Sardaar ji (2015):  One of the families hosting a wedding hires a fearless Sikh to deal with the ghost haunting their wedding venue; with Diljit Dosanjh.

Tezz (2012):  High octane thriller about a man determine to get what was taken from him and the agent determined to stop him; with Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn.

Twenty Two (2015):  Survivors of women who were forced into sexual slavery in Japanese-owned China during World War 2 share their harrowing tales in this documentary.

Tyson (2008):  Former boxing champion Mike Tyson explores his controversies surrounding his life in and out of the ring in this James Toback documentary.

The UnMiracle (2017):  The reaction in a small town to a popular high school girl's accidental overdose is the basis for this faith based film; with Stephen Baldwin and Kevin Sorbo.

V for Vendetta (2005):  A masked freedom fighter gains an unexpected ally in the form of a young woman he saves as he fights a fascist government in Britain; with Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman.

Voyeur (2017):  Unsettling documentary focuses on a motel owner who secretly and illegally spied on his guests for decades.

The Wackness (2008):  A psychiatrist begins a friendship with a teen drug dealer who trades his goods in exchange for therapy time; with Ben Kingsley and Josh Peck.

While You Were Sleeping (1995):  A transit worker who saves a man who falls into a coma deals with misunderstandings with his family while falling for his brother; with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman.

The Worthy (2016):  A man living in a post-apocalyptic world where civilization is in the history books errs by letting outsiders into his family compound; with Ali Suliman.

The Young Victoria (2009):  The life of young, newly crowned Queen Victoria who is romanced by a man named Albert in this lush period film; with Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend.

Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017):  Philandering tour guide falls for a client while searching for her missing engagement ring; with Shah Rukh Khan.

Temple (2017):  Three unsuspecting American tourists ignore warnings from Japanese residents to avoid a mysterious mountain shrine; with Logan Huffman.

December 5:


Craig Ferguson: Tickle Fight (2017):  The former late night host/actor covers 1970s porn, Japanese toilets, and crime filled days as a talk show host in this special.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 (2017):  Who is Peter "Star Lord" Quill?  The ragtag, wisecracking members of the Guardians intend on finding out; with Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana.

December 6:


Born in China (2017):  This documentary explores the efforts of various Chinese animals (a panda and her cub, golden monkey, and snow leopard) to survive in the wilds of that country.

Alibaba Aur 40 Chor (1979):  Simple village man deals with political intrigue as he takes on a powerful and ruthless gang of bandits; with Dharmendra.

Delhi Belly (2011):  Three roommates get involved in one fiance's shady business and find a global crime syndicate is after them; with Imran Khan.

Dhobi Ghat (aka Mumbai Diaries) (2010):  Intimate drama about four people from four different castes brought together by circumstances; with Aamir Khan.

El Camino Christmas (2017):  A group of strangers in a liquor store being held up in a robbery end up bonding on Christmas Eve; with Jessica Alba and Tim Allen.

Jaal (1986):  Shankar agrees to spy on a family at the request of a mysterious woman and contemplates on his father's abandonment; with Jeetendra.

Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na (2008):  A soft spoken man and a spitfire beauty have nothing in common, except their family's belief that they belong together; with Imran Khan.

Lagaan (2001):  In 1890s India, an arrogant British commander challenges the overtaxed residents of a small town to a high stakes cricket match; with Aamir Khan.

The Oath (2016):  An Icelandic heart surgeon finds his well-ordered life crumbling when his daughter becomes addicted to drugs thanks to a sinister boyfriend; with Baltasar Kormakur.

Papa the Great (2000):  Meek family man witnesses a murder and must summon his courage when a notorious gangster is angered; with Krishan Kumar.

Peepli Live (2010):  Two indigent farmers come up with a horrible scheme to get their families out of debt; with Omkar Das Manikpuri.

Catwoman (2004):  A woman is resurrected after being killed upon stumbling onto a conspiracy and seeks justice and vengeance; with Halle Berry and Sharon Stone.

The Hatred (2017):  Four young woman go to a country house for an ideal weekend retreat and find danger on the agenda instead; with Sarah Davenport.

Red Christmas (2016):  A family gathering in a remote Australian estate turns dangerous when a mysterious stranger turns up at the door; with Dee Wallace.

Judd Apatow: The Return (2017):  The comedy producer and director returns to stand-up after 25 years with this special riffing on living with three women and highlights of his career.

The Santa Clause (1994):  An ad executive learns about the fine print when he accidentally kills Santa and ends up taking his spot; with Tim Allen and Judge Reinhold.

The Santa Clause 2 (2002):  Scott learns about a hitch while on the job in the North Pole: he has to find a wife; with Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell.

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006):  Scott deals with various family situations while trying to thwart Jack Frost's theme to take over the North Pole; with Tim Allen and Martin Short.

The Trip to Spain (2017):  Steve Coogan and Rob Dryden sharpen their impersonation skills as they reunite for a culinary and sightseeing trip through Spain.

The Unknown Girl (2016):  Guilt-ridden Belgian doctor desperately searches for the identity of a woman who died after being turned away from her office; with Adele Haenel.

Viceroy's House (2017):  Viceroy Lord Mountbatten arrives in Delhi in 1947 to transfer power to India as religious factions threaten war; with Hugh Bonneville and Gillian Anderson.

1920 (2008):  Architect and his wife move into a castle that's being converted into a luxury hotel, but something inside is preventing it from happening; with Rajneesh Duggal.

Agadbam (2010):  A young man's family drama becomes a three ring circus when his dreams start to come true; with Makarand Anaspure.

Bianca come il latte, rossa come il sangue (2013):  Angst driven teen unable to find happiness finds a new outlook on life when he meets pretty teen facing illness; with Filippo Scicchitano.

Christmas Inheritance (2017):  To inherit her father's company, Ellen must first visit his hometown where she learns the values of hard work and helping others; with Eliza Taylor.

Coffee Ani Barach Kani (2015):  Two separate timelines explore the anatomy and evolution of a young couple's relationship and their challenges; with Neha Mahajan.

Dark Chocolate (2016):  Available in Bengali and Hindi versions.  The discovery of a charred corpse in the woods leads to a high profile investigation; with Riya Sen.

Deool (2011):  A village simpleton's claim that he was visited by a divine being leads to a world turned upside down in his town; with Nana Patekar.

Discovering Bigfoot (2017):  Various researchers travel into the wilderness trying to prove the existence of the Sasquatch in this "documentary".

Drillbit Taylor (2008):  Three high school freshman hires an ex soldier turned beach bum as a bodyguard against bullies; with Owen Wilson and Leslie Mann.

Fiore (2016):  Two teens serving in different parts of an Italian prison fall in love despite not having much contact with each other; with Daphne Scoccia.

Freeway: Crack in the System (2015):  Drug kingpin "Freeway" Rick Ross recounts his empire in this documentary including the shocking tale of an unexpected ally: the CIA.

Gelo (2016):  Punjabi woman working on a farm deals with issues involving class and a dysfunctional community in this picture; with Jaspinder Cheema.

Happy Journey (2014):  A dead woman's ghost helps her brother overcome his guilt and find balance in his life again; with Atul Kulkami.

Il giovane favoloso (2014):  Poet/philosopher Giacomo Leopardi overcomes poor health to live an extraordinary life; with Elio Germano.

Los Ninos Heroes de Chapultepec (2017):  Documentary focuses on the young Mexican cadets who sacrificed to protect a castle from American forces.

Under an Arctic Sky (2017):  For six fearless surfers, the experience of finding fresh waves to surf takes them to the north coast of Iceland in this documentary.

Valu: The Wild Bull (2008):  Pair of city officials plan to capture and kill a wild bull that's terrorizing a small Indian village in this comedy; with Atul Kulkami.

YZ (2016):  An introvert and loner in his 30s is compelled to take steps to break through the shell of isolation; with Sagar Deshmukh.

Women's Balcony (2017):  An accident that occurs during a bar mitzvah celebration leads to a split between genders in an Orthodox community in Jerusalem; with Avraham Aviv Alush.

You Can't Fight Christmas (2017):  A decorator of a luxury hotel literally falls into the arms of the hotel heir: someone who thinks Christmas is frivolous; with Persia White and Andra Fuller.

December 21:

48 Christmas Wishes (2017):  It's up to two elves to retrieve missing wishes from kids when a fire at the North Pole takes out Santa's letters from a small town; with Khiyla Aynne.

Desires (2017):  A young woman arrives at her sister's wedding to mend fences, but trouble looms when she falls into lust with the groom; with Carolina Ardohain.

Fireplace for Your Home: The Bright Edition (2017):  To further hype the Will Smith sci-fi film, they throw in a fairy and mischievous friends in with your standard crackling fire for the holidays.

Jeremiah Tower: The Last Magnificent (2017):  Documentary focuses on the influential American chef who created a revolutionary new American cuisine.


December 22:

Bright (2017):  In a future LA where humans reluctantly interact with fantastical creatures, a veteran cop and his rookie orc partner get involved in a battle for a wand; with Will Smith and Joel Edgerton.

Madness in the Desert (2004):  Behind the scenes look at the making of Indian Bollywood epic Lagaan featuring true stories revealed from a production team member.

December 23:


Creep 2 (2017):  Video artist finds the perfect subject for her sensational piece, but he starts to reveal his insidious side; with Mark Duplass.


December 25:


Fallen (2017):  Heart wrenching documentary allows us to pay tribute to cops fallen in the line of duty with interviews with grieving families.

A Gray State (2017):  Documentary explores the deaths of a filmmaker and his family which has led to various conspiracy theories.

December 26:


Clash (2016):  During the tumult following the ouster of an Egyptian president, various demonstrators end up inside a police truck; with Nelly Karim.

Mr. Roosevelt (2017):  A struggling comedian returns to Austin to see her ailing cat and deal with her messy past; with Noel Wells.

Todd Barry: Spicy Honey (2017):  Barry uses his bone-dry wit to riff on texting, the price of soap and pizza, and the taste in wine in this special.

Bibi and Tina: Tohuwabohu Total (aka Bibi and Tina: Perfect Pandemonium) (2017):  A teen witch and her best friend try to reconcile a runaway girl with her family and save their castle from chaos; with Lina Larissa Strahl.

Pusher (2012):  In the remake of a Danish thriller, a drug pusher earns the wrath of his suppliers when he's busted and thus doesn't have the funds to pay them back; with Richard Coyle.

December 29:


The Climb (2017):  To impress the woman he loves, a Senegalese-French man sets out to climb Mount Everest and becomes a media sensation; with Ahmed Sylla.

Killer Legends (2014):  The origins of four terrifying urban legends may have come from certain true crimes, as shown in this documentary.

Shelter (2010): Forensic psychiatrist takes on a patient with multiple personalities and a trail of corpses; with Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

The description on the Netflix Media Center website for Prison Playbook, which was supposed to stream in November is Word-for-Word identical to the description of the first season of Good Morning Call on the Netflix site. Either the Media Center description is wrong, or Prison Playbook does not exist.
